Big Muddy Urban Farm uses various plots throughout Omaha.
Below is a list of our locations and specific information about each space!

33rd and California
This spot was generously given to us by Chris Foster, Martin and Rob Janousek. We share the space with a very skilled grower, Chris Combs of Sweet Thyme Farm, who grows a variety of native perennial plants including small nuts and fruits, as well as some annuals. We grow greens, roots, and peas in raised beds here.

35th and Cass
This is a small plot at the Gifford Park Community Garden where we grow "themed" gardens with the help of kids from Gifford Park neighborhood. In 2012, we planted a pizza garden, with tomatoes, onions, peppers and herbs. At the end of the season, we demonstrated the process of canning your own pizza sauce, and even had a pizza party! 

33rd and Webster
Here, you will find our feathered friends ranging the plot, scratching for bugs and snacking on greens. And just two lots North, we are growing more veggies! Both lots were previously vacant and commonplace for trash to accumulate... now they are abundant -- and frequently visited by our neighbors!

40th and Davenport
Here, we work in partnership with the Joslyn Castle, cultivating the land that was historically cultivated as the castle's kitchen garden. 

45th and Charles
New to our farm in 2014, we are working to expand our growing space here! Previously, the land, that is owned by a neighbor, was sitting fallow and was being mowed. Now, it is home to happy, healthy veggies, as we improve the soil and tend to the land!
